"At Limòlo, we firmly believe that small changes can make a big impact. From our way of traveling to our daily lives, and vice versa. We are here to accompany you on this wonderful journey."

Daniela Meloni, Owner and Skipper of Limòlo House

Limolo House 56 Green is a home restored in bio-architecture where we experiment with the new frontiers of hospitality and living. We seek solutions that result in more sustainable practices and more responsible actions.
Aware that Limòlo may not be a place for everyone and everyone (read our 10 reasons not to come to Limòlo).
First, the context: we are located on the West Coast of Sardinia, in the heart of the village of Cabras, in contact with the nature of the Sinis area between sea and lagoons. Two elements on which we sought a synthesis. With its earthen walls, Limòlo was saved from the cruelty of bulldozers and concrete and enhanced by the work of enthusiasts and well-known names in European Green Architecture including Architect Luciano Pia.
For us, Limòlo is much more than a hospitality concept, it is a place to learn a new way of traveling, living and living , and each of our guests is part of this mission, which we want to travel with more and more people.
Here we tell you how Bioarchitecture and Sustainability come together at Limòlo.

Our Route

Here are the key points of our journey towards a more sustainable model of hospitality and tourism

Respect and Identity: We have aimed to preserve the structure and original identity of the Campidanese houses, adapting modern needs to their layout rather than the other way around.

We use furnishings made from reclaimed and recycled materials, which are reusable or compostable, and adopt sustainable resource management practices.

Biodiversity: In Limòlo's garden, everything has the right to grow. Today, all greenery is precious, including thistles and asphodels. They accompany the traditional garden plants, the vegetable garden, and the medicinal herbs, creating a joyful celebration of greenery and flowers.

Natural Habitat Wellness: Thermo-hygrometric regulation is managed by the earth and hydraulic lime wall masses.

Bioarchitecture: We get our hands dirty every day with natural and local materials, such as raw earth, hydraulic lime, chestnut wood, and reeds.

The houses made of raw earth possess their own soul and truth, which we have explored with our hands in the clay, eliminating cement and restoring the walls to raw earth. Limòlo is made of earth, lime, terrazzo, iron, reeds, and wood. These "living" materials change appearance with the seasons, protecting us and delighting us with a continuous play of reflections and colors.

In this corner of Sardinia, far from urban rhythms, we inhabit a house made of earth and lime, inspired by the stories of the elderly about a time regulated by nature. We seek to honor this passage, intertwining past, present, and future in a lesson that underscores the urgency of a return to nature.

Limolo is a place like few others exist, where respect for the territory is perceived through the use of natural materials and where sustainability finds the perfect balance with contemporary art.
