What should I expect from a stay at Limòlo?

In a stay at Limòlo, you can expect a unique experience that combines the comfort of a vacation with environmental responsibility. We like to call them 'eco-challenges,' but they're really just simple measures to live more sustainably that you can also apply. These challenges include:

Self-Managed Breakfast: Each room comes with a lovely breakfast kit... a blend of craftsmanship, art, and upcycling. It will be your companion during your stay, and we ask that you take care of it. This kit will provide you with many suggestions: water conservation, eco-friendly cleaners, organic waste composting, and more.

Maintenance of Common Spaces: Limolo is a co-housing hospitality version that encourages the exchange of practices and experiences, fostering new friendships often united by a 'green' spirit. Common spaces are at your disposal, and respecting them helps minimize consumption and create a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Shared Kitchen: Want to use the kitchen for simple meals to enjoy in the beautiful bioclimatic garden, Limoletto? It's yours to use! We provide the essentials. You just need to bring your own ingredients (ideally local, Cabras is famous for this) and leave it tidy for other guests.

Natural Ventilation: Natural ventilation is a fundamental aspect of your stay. We'll teach you how to use it. You'll become a perfect 'sailor' of your stay, navigating a 'new regatta' where you'll learn that for a pleasant indoor climate, there's no need for air conditioning ('the concept is outdated,' quote from Luciano Pia, Architect) and electricity consumption."

How does breakfast at Limòlo promote sustainability?

Limòlo's breakfast is a curious encounter between simplicity and "gourmandise". It promotes sustainability by encouraging awareness of consuming fresh, locally sourced, zero-kilometer foods and knowledge of local producers, energy savings, and waste reduction.

Why does Limòlo encourage self-managed breakfast?

Does Limòlo offer dietary options for guests with special diets (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free)?

We always strive to accommodate our guests' special dietary needs. However, as a small establishment, we need to organize in advance. So please let us know your needs as soon as possible. It's possible that we may ask for a small extra fee for specific products. We will advise you on where to purchase the best fresh products. Nonetheless, the refrigerator and space for what you need to bring are at your disposal.

For this reason, for any special dietary needs, please contact us in advance, and we will find the best assortment for your requirements.

How are locally sourced products selected for breakfast?

Products are selected based on their local origin, seasonality, and sustainable practices adopted by producers, with the aim of supporting the local economy and reducing the carbon footprint of food transportation.

For this reason, for any special dietary needs, please contact us in advance, and we will find the best assortment for your requirements.

Why doesn't Limòlo have air conditioning systems?

At Limòlo, natural ventilation is practiced to promote a more sustainable approach and reduce energy consumption, utilizing fresh outdoor air from the air exchanges produced by the nearby lagoons, the Mistral wind, and the temperature changes from the bioclimatic garden.

Cosa significa praticare la ventilazione naturale a Limòlo?

Practicing natural ventilation means allowing fresh outdoor air to circulate inside the rooms by entering through partially open or open windows at certain times of the day and exiting through ventilation holes, utilizing natural currents to cool the environment.

A volte aiutiamo questo scambio d'aria con la ventilazione meccanica. Abbiamo evitato l'uso dell' aria condizionata, in linea con l'impegno di Limòlo per un soggiorno a basso impatto energetico.

How does check-in and check-out work at Limòlo?

Check-in at Limòlo is available from 4:00 PM onwards via self-check-in, while check-out must be completed by 10:00 AM throughout the year, and 9:30 AM in July and August. It is recommended to park your car in the widest part of the street without obstructing neighbors' doors or windows, or in the designated parking area, avoiding parking in front of the facade of Limòlo House. Respecting the customs of the neighborhood residents is essential and helps promote local tourism.

How can I use Wi-Fi at Limòlo?

The Wi-Fi at Limòlo is available in the common space of the entrance hall and in the outdoor garden. The code is located on the back of the entrance door. Enjoy the natural atmosphere of adobe walls. We didn't want to pierce them to extend it everywhere. Perhaps it's not very convenient, but it might make us reflect on the need to spend a few hours 'disconnected' and limit alphanumeric pollution.

What is Limòlo's policy regarding towel and sheet changes?

Towel change occurs every three days, and sheet change every seven days. If you need, just ask, we'll provide additional changes, but please consider it as a commitment towards reducing water and energy consumption.

Is it possible to request more frequent towel and sheet changes?

What does Limòlo do to promote biodiversity in its garden and surroundings?

Limòlo adopts practices such as planting native species, creating habitats for insects and birds, and using organic gardening techniques to promote biodiversity and the well-being of the local ecosystem. You will never find neatly manicured lawns or English-style gardens here, but rather natural compositions of plants and herbs that interact in nature and naturally recreate their microclimate. It may seem like a wild garden, but you will be amazed to immerse yourself and feel directly - almost epidermically - in touch with nature.

Do you accept pets?

The layout of Limolo's rooms and common spaces makes it a bit difficult to accommodate large dogs. For small ones, we sometimes make an exception. However, please write to us so we can check. Sometimes, our beloved dogsitter Valeria has been very helpful.

Is Limòlo accessible for people with disabilities?

"Limòlo is a typical house of the area, all on the ground floor, the same level as the garden. All our rooms are designed to be fully accessible to people with reduced mobility, as well as to blind and visually impaired guests, ensuring a comfortable and safe stay for everyone. In particular, the Randa and Trinchetta Rooms are also accessible to wheelchair users.

How can I contribute to keeping Limòlo beautiful and welcoming?
