Mezzana

Mezzana like the ketch’s sail. Sheltered from the summer sun, in the most intimate part of the house. Lime paint and rice powder for a restful, natural color that borders the walls and frames the furnishings. That’s why on the head of the bed we wanted to put a large aerial photo of the rice fields of Azienda Falchi in Oristano, where you can see Cape San Marco and the Sinis Peninsula in the distance

It houses some vintage pieces found in the original house and refitted by skilled craftsmen. The large chest of drawers with the marble top is a classic in Campidanese homes: every family owned at least one, which was donated and passed down among family members. Photos of sailing and racing and a curious heirloom, a small picture with a painted flamingo, dating back to the dle set of the Film Figlia Mia, filmed in this house before restoration in 2017.

In the afternoon, a ray of sun shines through it from the roof window, creating a curious play of shadows among the original roof beams, left exposed in the idea  of sustainable restoration carried out by Architect Luciano Pia.

It has a large double bed and stone sink in the room.

Quiet and restful, it looks out a restored window and wall flowers from a hallway that serves as a ventilation chimney, making it the coolest room in the entire building.
